Our story

A small range, made well.

Most shirt brands either over-price the basics or cut corners on the build. We wanted a third option.

Barrow Ford is a small range of classic shirts, built with the features that European tailoring is known for — and priced for the days you actually wear them.

From the founders

Fresh eyes on a familiar shirt.

We started Barrow Ford to bring the classic formal shirt back — not as a luxury reserved for a few, but as an everyday standard for men who dress with purpose.

We are Srilaya V Nadapana and Hema Lakshmi Grandhi, the founders of Barrow Ford Shirts.

We came into menswear from outside its usual rooms. And maybe that is exactly why we saw the category differently.

For years, men have been asked to choose between two extremes — overpriced premium shirts that feel distant, or affordable shirts that often compromise on structure, fabric, fit, and finish. Somewhere in that trade-off, the classic formal shirt lost its discipline.

The shirt that sits right. The collar that holds its shape. The fabric that carries you through long Indian workdays. The clean button-down collar, the strong front placket, the back box pleat, the apple-cut hem — details that make a shirt feel complete.

These were never just design choices. They were the language of a well-made shirt.

So we built Barrow Ford around one simple belief: classic menswear does not need to be loud to be powerful.

Our focus is on formal banker shirts made for real everyday use — sharp enough for meetings, comfortable enough for long hours, and refined enough to move from office to evening without feeling out of place.

We are not trying to reinvent the shirt. We are trying to bring back what made it dependable in the first place.

Every Barrow Ford shirt is shaped by conversations with working professionals, by our own attention to detail, and by the guidance of senior industry mentors who know exactly where quality matters and where unnecessary excess can be avoided.

Because a good shirt should not make you think twice.

It should feel correct the moment you wear it. It should make you stand straighter. It should quietly say that you are ready for the day.

That is the Barrow Ford promise.

With this shirt, you can never be wrong.

What makes a Barrow Ford shirt

Four features. Standard in European shirt-making.

Button-down collar close-up

Button-down collar

The collar tips button onto the shirt. Stays flat through the day. No iron-touch-ups between meetings.

Front placket close-up showing double stitching

Front placket, double-stitched

The strip down the front. Built thicker than standard so the buttons sit straight and the shirt holds its shape.

Back box pleat close-up

Back box pleat

A small fold across the upper back. Gives you room across the shoulders without making the shirt feel loose.

Apple cut hem close-up showing curved bottom

Apple cut hem

A gently curved hem. Sits clean tucked in. Sits clean untucked.

How we keep the price honest

We make a small range. We make it in good fabric. We do not over-design.

That is how the price stays where it is — and how the quality stays where it should be.

Start with one shirt. Build the rotation.

A small range. One honest price. Pick a pattern that suits your week.
